  • A Short History of Perfins  by Dave Hill, Secretary of the GB Perfin Society
     

  • The story Behind the cover - Keith Tranmer looks at the siege of Przemysl 1914-15

  • French India - John Yeomans examines some 18th century covers from the french Establishments in India

  • Scanning & Digital Camera Pictures - wanting to add some pictures to your album pages? David Alford offers a few tips

  • China - David Sibley's display given to the Society on the 11 November covered the period from 1878 with the first Imperial definitives of 1878 (the "Dragons") through to the end of World War II and is described by Mike Goodman, as are the Annual Competitions held on 9 December.

Plus Book reviews, Letters to the Eitor, Out & About with Members and News from Far & Near, including the National PS Medal Winners at TORQUAY 2006. 


April 2007

  • An Item from My Collection - A Victorian Tragedy - Paul Hudson bought an interesting lot of entires and found a letter written by a lady on the death of her father suggesting some family differences.
      

  • The Common Cold - A Philatelic Theme  - Tom Wilson takes a look at the common cold and some philatelic connections.

  • Postal History or Stamps - Keith Tranmer explains his preferences. 

  • Bitter Sweet Bondage - a history of slavery with illustrations from the stamp album, by David C Hunter.

  • A New Home and a New Building - Glenn Morgan reports on the move of the National Philatelic Society from Charterhouse Street to The British Postal Museum & Archive.

  • The Postal History of Newfoundland 1700-1899  - Colin Lewis's Display given to the Society on the 13 January and Maggie Thompson's Display of "Triangles for Airmail and Other Special Services" given on 10 February, are both described by Mike Goodman.
