February 2018

  • A Philatelic Observation of Butterflies and Moths in Medicine - A thematic article on butterflies that goes further than usual as Vladimir Kachan looks particularly at their use in medicine.

  • How to not to handle the packet - some horror stories - Barbara Priddy recalls a few surprises and offers tips for the smooth operation of a Circulating Packet.

  • Pushing back the Frontiers of Forensic Philately - Paul Leonard BSc. (Hons.),CSc., FRPSL looks at opportunities to utilise science-based evidence to assess philatelic material in his report on the 3rd International Symposium on Analytical Methods in Philately held at the Royal Philatelic Society, London in October 2017.

  • It's all Greek to me, with a touch of Albanian - Four stamps issued by the short-lived Republic of North Epirus has Dave Hill looking into one aspect of the Balkan Wars and their aftermath. 
     

  • Meeting Reports - Detailed and informative reports on the Members Displays given at the Christmas Meeting on Saturday 2 December 2017 and on the Aviation Crash Mail Display given by Paul Cahill at our first meeting at the Postal Museum on Saturday 13th January 2018.
