We want you to enjoy the use of the NPS Library, but it must never be forgotten that we are temporary custodians for the generations of collectors to come. It is our responsibility to help preserve the contents of this valuable research facility. Your help and co-operation is much appreciated.
The Do's

DO use pencils at all times rather than pens, ball points or crayons.
DO report to the Librarian any damage you discover in a book.

Do Not's

DO NOT bring food, drink or smoking materials into the Library.
DO NOT bring bags, folders or coats into the Library.
DO NOT put a book or anything else on top of an open book
DO NOT lean on or write whilst resting on a book, open or closed.
DO NOT bend books back, lay them face-down or damage the binding.
DO NOT straighten out creased/dog-eared pages; you'll cause more harm.
DO NOT handle books roughly, drop them or put them on the floor.
DO NOT fold any page.
DO NOT lick fingers before turning the pages of books.
DO NOT write in or mark books in any way.
DO NOT touch a book with any writing material, paper clips or pins.
DO NOT bring into the library anything that can harm a book. (These include glue, ink in bottles, adhesive tape, scissors or knives)
