  • Stuart Rossiter Memorial Lecture - Which is more important, history or Postal History?  A report by the editor on the Lecture delivered by Simon Martin -Redman FRPSL,

  • Puffy as Cotton Wool, Renoir on stamps :.The late Flavia del Giudice highlights  stamps  depicting Renoir and his works and what art critics said about him.

  • Devil in the Detail, a study of Swiss Classics, Part 1: David P. Williams examines some of his Swiss classics and tries to distinguish genuine from fake. 

  • The Herbert L'Estrange Ewen Index to the philatelic press 1901: Brian J.Birch examines an early index to the philatelic press and how it can be useful to modern philatelic researchers.

  • Reports by the Hon President and Officers of the NPS to the 2024 Annual General Meeting..

  • Meeting reports; On-line  meeting of Monday 10 June 2024.The main speaker, Malcolm Coe showed Early Sudan postal stationery and the stories they tell, the historical background and the stories of the people who sent and received them. The Annual General Meeting on 13 July 2024 and the Displays by Members that followed.

  • Book Reviews  Detailed and informative reviews are a regular feature of the magazine. Reviewed in this issue are SG Stamps of the World Catalogue 85th ed 2024 and Malaya Postal Stationery to 1936 by Len Stanway.

  • October 2024

  • Spotting a wrong'un”: by Michael L. Goodman FRPSL. How to spot counterfeit Machins with the naked eye, with illustrations of counterfeits and genuine, and covers bearing a postage due “fine".

  • Exploring the contours of Context Philately: by David Beech MBE FRPSL. David Beech explains context philately in a feature based a joint presentation with Alex Haimann to the Philatelic Congress of Great Britain at  Southampton in July 2024.

  • What's it worth? Canada: Michael Round highlights a cover plastered in Canadian pictorials'

  • Devil in the Detail, a study of Swiss Classics, Part 2: David P. Williams examines an 1850 Geneva cantonal issue, and explains why his own specimen is genuine.

  • Herbert L'Estrange Ewen, the Swanage Connection: the editor, with the aid of Chris Oliver and Brian J.Birch discusses the Swanage connection of this philatelist and publisher whose compilation of a pioneering  philatelic press index was the subject of a feature by Brian J.Birch in the August issue.

  • Congo Brazzaville - the fake Légal overprints and Seychelles - the photogravure period 1938-69: Michael Round writes about the displays he gave at the AGM in July 2024.

  • Meeting reports: Members' displays after the AGM on 13 July 2024. Virtual meeting of Monday 12 August  where  main speaker, Philip Longbottom presented Postal history of the Netherlands from the 16th century to the early airmail era, and its stamp issues to the 1930's', plus the London Meeting of 14 September featuring Aspects of Malaya by Len Stanway.

  • Book Reviews – Detailed and informative reviews are a regular feature of the magazine. Reviewed in this issue are SG Great Britain Concise Catalogue; Anguilla's Quest for Identity by Susan Taylor, Julian Waldron & Brian Stockdale, Queen Elizabeth II - Worldwide Recess printed issues by James Peter Gough, and A Reminder of the British Greetings Telegram Service by F Brian Sole.

  • Newsmix : Autumn Stampex preview, Royal Mail's new smartphone weapon against counterfeits and the new ABPS chairman. Most popular music stamps. In his column, Michael L. Goodman explains how to destroy value in a collection and critices f Royal Mail's failure to support Stampex.

                                                                      
    December 2024

  • It all started over a shop in Clapham - How a meeting in South London in November 1899 marked the foundation of the Junior Philatelic Society, precursor of the National Philatelic Society. This illustrated feature by Michael L Goodmand and Peter Mellor, with a bibliography courtesy of Brian Birch, highlights the history of the National Philatelic Society from its foundation by eminent philatelist and writer, Fred Melville, through to the present day.

  • The Space Race by Barry Feltham FRPSL. How the USSR and the USA competed in Space exploration during the Cold War years. Barry's article sets the background to his display to the NPS on 16 November 2024, which included newsreel clips, as well as all sorts of philatelic material.

  • Boites mobiles and paquebot marks of the Channel Islands, by Nicholas Stuart. An illustrated description of the Mobile Box and Pcquebot marks used on mail between France and the Channel Islands.

  • How Well do you know the NPS? The editor sets a short Christmas quiz testing readers' knowledge of the history of the National Philatelic Society.

  • Checklist of Articles in the Philatelic Press, January to June 2024. Compiled by Rodney Knight.

  • Meeting reports: Great Britain Revenues, from the reign of William and Mary to Queen Victoria. In our virtual meeting of 14 October 2024, the main speaker David Leathart FRPSL showed examples of Revenue embossed documents and adhesive stamps and seals from the late 17th century to the reign of Queen Victoria, while in the second half, Malcolm Coe showed postal seals of Egypt and Sudan, and Peter Mellor showed a few postcards that had caught his eye.

  • Book Reviews Detailed and informative reviews are a regular feature of the magazine. Reviewed in this issue are SG Canada and Provinces 4th ed 2024, Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 South America Airmail 1930-1937 by Brian Callan, and SG Commonwealth and British Empire Stamps 1840-1970, 127th ed 2025.

  • Newsmix : More information on Europhilex 2025 and a look forward to Fairs in 2025. In his column, the Editor recalls the special “Boots” pane produced by the  NPS in 1999, as part of its centenary celebrations, the trendy new London bar with a postal theme,  and the UPU's 150th anniversary .
